IFL2 Expansion - additional space, power & cooling

Manchester – November 2, 2007 – Internet Facilitators Limited (internetf.co.uk) providers of carrier neutral collocation and data centre services, today announce the expansion of their IFL2 data center in Manchester. The new 150 rack expansion further cements IFL’s position as the largest provider of data center space in Manchester and the North West region.

IFL2 is a purpose built, state of the art facility, with independent n+1 UPS systems and diesel generators protecting the two floors of the building operated by IFL. Further protection is offered through VESDA smoke detection and FM200 fire suppressant, non-ozone depleting n+1 Air Conditioning and 24x7x365 technical support and manned security.

Commenting on the announcements, Matthew Edgley, IFL Sales Manager says;

“Due to a combination of increased demand and inadequate supply, there is a lack of high quality collocation space available in the UK. This 150 rack expansion comes on the back of the 250 racks released earlier this year, and many have already been reserved by existing clients. Demand for space continues at record levels.”

The expansion follows a further investment of £1M in additional air conditioning and UPS protected power supply, allowing for higher powered racks throughout the facility. The additional infrastructure and the further 150 racks will be available from mid December 2007.

In addition to the new space, the company has also announced a Partner program to work more closely with Service Providers, hosting companies and resellers to provide award-winning dedicated co-location to their customers.

“A large number of our clients are local Service Providers and hosting companies in Manchester and the North West, and this program has been introduced based upon their feedback. It allows IFL to better partner with them to provide their clients with higher availability, greater certainty and better service levels to their business, around the clock.”
